One of the health and wellness newsletters I subscribe to is Smart Publications.
Interesting that their headline article today was about chelation, especially in light of our latest show topics!
They point out that one problem with chelation is that some practitioners offer it just for the business.
They also point you to a book by Gerry Gordon, M.D., discussing chelation’s use in detoxifying heavy metals.

Smart Publications can be found here and you can sign up for their newsletter as well.

Thought we were done with Chelation Therapy after last week’s show, but realized it was pretty boring (though factual) and didn’t have a lot of emotion in it. This is a topic to get emotional about!!
Told a couple of stories from my practice that shows just how powerful chelation is. Can take one from a serious disease waiting to happen, even though the “standard of care” says do nothing or surgery, back to health. In the process it can keep one out of nursing homes and help to remain independent, functional and productive. Let’s get emotional!!
Better yet, let’s start the revolution in health care and start asking for a better, higher standard that actually helps us improve our health. Let’s not settle for what the doctors keep telling us based on their unthinking, “stupidity.”
We then discussed oral chelation versus the IV (intravenous) method and its effectiveness. Go for it! Links are posted on the Resources page.
Next week we will talk about food allergy and the major effects that it can have on health. Tune in and be prepared!
Have started reading the work of Walter Russell. Esoteric, great stuff. Will be talking more about this in the future!
Meanwhile, enjoy my latest project transforming my backyard into a productive, nurturing, meditative spot to feed my soul and body. Find it on this blog.

Today we discussed chelation therapy.
Cardiovascular disease is still the Number One Killer of Americans according to the American Heart Association.
While we as a society have been making some progress over the last decade, the rates of disease and death are still very high. Perhaps we should be more aggressive in looking for more effective and safer ways of solving this problem??
Chelation therapy is one of those ways.
The naysayers will try to scare you away but the research and experience of trained physicians who do chelation therapy is FAR too solid to suggest that chelation therapy is anything but safe and effective.
We talked briefly how chelation, and specifically EDTA, works and how it is effective for high blood pressure, heart attack, angina, stroke and heart failure. We didn’t mention it, but it is also effective for peripheral vascular disease. We pointed out that the IV (intravenous) means of administration of EDTA needs to be done by a trained physician, certified through ACAM. Though the treatment is not generally reimbursed by or covered by insurance plans, it is a much cheaper and more effective therapy than drug or surgical approaches and with much less morbidity and mortality.

The American Heart Association link to its statistics is found here.
The organization that trains physicians to do chelation therapy, the American College for Advancement in Medicine, has a homepage here.
A good overview of Chelation Therapy, benefits, side effects and safety concerns is found here.
A Google search for “chelation therapy” will bring you lots of negative press from the AHA and from quackwatch.org. You decide. Take charge of your own life.
The ACAM website has a great selection of books. The classis is by Elmer Cranton, MD, ”Bypassing Bypass.”
Finally, we mentioned that the latest project here is to transform the back yard into usable, edible, productive space. Look for the blog and videos that will chronicle that project.
