How Much Healing do You Want? – Part I

The physical world in which you move, the physical body in which you live, is “merely” an expression of a much deeper, grander, more powerful spiritual reality.  The physical planet on which we breathe is “meremly” the expression of the thought of God, Loving Father, who from his mind spoke into existence the amazing, perfectly coherent existence in which we share. Now I suggest that you can “dissect” this expression of life into at least three levels.  Excuse me for doing so, but this is the Western way of trying to understand things.  Hopefully at the end it will all fit back together. The first level is the obvious physical level.  This is the level at which we breathe, see with our physical eyes, hear with our physical ears, move our physical body, make a living, earn money, experience cuts and scrapes and cancers and diabetes and arthritis and so forth.  This is the bottom of the scale, the lowest vibration in the energy field.  This is where our daily life takes shape and all the cause and effect kinds of relationships “work” here.  The knife produces the cut; the motor vehicle out of control causes the fractured leg.  To compare it to the field of physics, this is where Newtonian physics takes place.   Everything is observable, testable, documentable, “scientific”.  It is easy and commom to put our trust in this level.

The second level is the less obvious but well known and somewhat understood emotional level.  This is where we feel, experience joy and sadness, elation and grief, laughter and depression.  This is where we are attracted to the job we like, the person we marry.  This is where we gain the energy to be loyal to a cause or person, to give ourselves over to protect our children, our family.  This is where we decide to spend the extra time in the pool to become the Olympic champion or take the extra batting practice or study for the extra degree to be more qualified as an accountant or physician.  The causes of the emotion are not so obvious, nor are the effects so predictable.  Where does the grief come from?  Was it from the death of your mother or the fight on the playground years ago?  Are you laughing at a joke that truly is funny or because that is your reaction to tragedy?  Why do you love your Harley but all of your siblings think that motorcycles are for fat guys with long hair and too many tatoos (and you are not fat, don’t have long hair or any tattoos)?  Yet every physical manifestation has a root at this level.  In our analogy this level is like the energy and activity of the atom that cannot be explained by Newtonian physics but depends on something more strange and less understandable like quantum physics.  At the same time it does not in any way make Newtonian physics wrong, just insufficient.  How can energy be both wave and particle at the same time?  How can energy have intelligence and know what it is going to do before it does it?  How can matter be composed mostly of non-matter?  Yet without this energy there is no physical existence.  Yet we do not easily trust this level.  Anything emotional is suspect and considered unreal and without merit.

The third level is even more obscure and even less understood.  This is the level of spirit.  This is where we experience the sense of “knowingness” where we just know. It may not make any logical sense whatsoever, it has little if anything to do with emotion though it will likely stimulate significant and deep emotion.  This is where Love and Fear reside.  This is where Loving Father exists and where he invites us to live with him.  This is where Jesus, Yeshua, also lived and what he manifested while on this planet.  He constantly was directing us to move into and live at this level.  He would do nothing (physical) unless he first saw his Father doing it (spirit).  He told us that we need to eat his flesh and drink his blood – wild, crazy, not understandable – to get to this level.  This is a transcendence beyond physical into spirit.  At this level he could walk on water, raise the dead, bring life to dying body parts (heal the sick) and control the weather.  At this level he could love without restraint the unlovely and he could die with the confidence that he would not stay dead.  In our analogy, this is like the subatomic level where it seems that all the simple rules of physics are superceded and there is a “deep magic”, as C.S. Lewis would call it, in control.  At this level all bets are off.  This is wild, nearly unrestrained, mostly unpredictable.  This is where energy is nearly limitless, where the amount of energy contained in the space as small as a mustard seed is enough to move mountains.  Nonetheless, this level is completely untrusted.  Though religions abound, they do so to try to bring this level into some understandable framework so that we can trust it.  Taken in its pure essence, however, this level is rarely followed without restraint.

With these levels of existence in mind and some of the implications, let’s consider in the next post what all of this has to do with healing.

Blessings,
Dr Jon

P.S. Are there more than three levels??  Could be.  Let’s be open to the possibility.  OR, are there really three levels?  Probably not, since we are whole, unified beings and a mix at the same time of all these.  Yet it may me helpful to look at them, especially when we discuss healing.
