Give the Law of Attraction a New Name!
A very interesting website, the Abundant Mystic, is holding a Telesummit over the next few weeks. These are daily interviews by Edward Mills, the site owner, with folk active in and having success with the concept of “mystic business” or, as I prefer, living from the heart and, particularly, doing business from the heart.
The first one played yesterday, May 10. It featured Bob Doyle, a Law of Attraction guy who teaches the concept and apparently does a lot of personal development type stuff.
Great interview!
Mr. Doyle really pegged the whole concept of the Law of Attraction, and I personally was getting a lot of tidbits and “ah-has” from it.
Here’s one big one: The Law of Attraction is poorly named.
It should be called The Law of Resonance.
“Attraction” gives the connotation that you sit and “attract”. Like honey to bees; just be sweet, do nothing and in they come.
Apparently this concept has taken hold and very few are doing anything or seeing any results.
“Resonance” on the other hand implies that one must actually take action and “tune in” to the resonant frequency of whatever they are attracting. There’s some movement required. Now, it doesn’t have to be hard and grunting and sweating and all that. The “dial” just has to be moved to get to the “right station.”
The idea of Resonance is also more in line with the fact that the universe is energy that is constantly everywhere and in everything vibrating and hence made up of frequency. The concept is much more “scientific” in that it makes sense to the Western mind. We talked about this one day on our Renegade Heart Radio Show on Talkshoe.
And that really is what it is all about. Getting in tune. With yourself, your passion (as Mr. Doyle says), your purpose, Father.
Once the movement to alignment has occurred (not always so easy and certainly not always without effort – as Mr. Doyle points out there is often a lot of resistance) then the energy can flow in the form of most anything. Joy, pleasure, satisfaction, money, accomplishment, “success” in whatever way you define it.
This interview is certainly worth a listen. Unfortunately, if you didn’t get it yesterday you will have to pay Edward for a copy. In the meantime, sign up for the rest of the cast; if they are even close to Mr. Doyle it will be worth your time.
And, BTW, there are no affiliate links or remunerations for me to tell you about this series, just letting you know about some good stuff.
You see, that is my passion. I am putting what I heard last night into action. My passion is teaching people to think bigger and better, to take what they “know” and really get a handle on it to make sense in the big picture. My passion is also to encourage people to get real with themselves, to get “naked”, figuratively and literally, to shed all the posturing and posing and covering up we do so we don’t have to really see our lacks and needs and dis-eases. The Garden of Eden is the goal, attainable once again if we only believe.
I’m turning the dial to resonate with that which is me, shedding all my own stuff standing in the way and standing back to see the Law of Resonance work.
See you in the Garden!
Blessings,
Dr Jon
P.S. Another passion is actually doing the garden thing. I’ll see you in that garden at one of my other blogs, the Urban Farmer.
